Eve's Necklace

Sophora affinis

Texas native deciduous tree reaching only 15 feet in height and width. It earned it's name for the black seed pods that resemble a necklace appearing in the fall after the pinkish white blooms in the spring. Foliage is very light and airy, giving only filtered shade underneath the tree allowing under planting. Tolerates any soil as long as it has good drainage - otherwise very low maintenance.
