A fast growing growing semi-evergreen shrub with a round form, and medium dense mass.
It is often used as a medium-sized hedge and takes trimming well. Blooms best in full sun but will tolerate part shade. Blooms start in the spring on new growth and continue to appear untill the first frost. They are somewhat fragrant. Plant will tolerate unfavorable conditions but will not look its best. Fertilize in late winter.
Leaves are simple and opposite, ovate rounded. Three-quarters to an inch and a half long, shiny on top. New growth is purple, turning green.
