Irregular growth habit can be easily manipulated with regular pruning. Deer absolutely love eating these plants, be sure to avoid planting them where they are a problem. Cold and non-ventilated areas promote leaf spot disease. Although Hawthorns grow in part shade, their blooms will not be as showy unless grown in full sun.
