Deciduous, growing up to 70 feet tall and 40 feet wide, this Elm forms a natural rounded canopy and displays attractive slightly exfoliating bark. Easily distinguishable from other elms by small flowers in late fall and pubescent winged seeds half an inch long....

Dwarf cultivar of the popular blooming perennial shrub native to Texas and Mexico. Bright green leaves are complimented with the multitude of yellow trumpet shape flowers appearing on the new growth from spring to fall. Esperanza is a tough and hardy plant ideal for any Texas landscape. It appreciates well-drained soils despite the quality it's grown in.

Pruning is not necessary till the first frost when the entire plant is killed back to the ground; good mulching will allow the roots to survive and return in the spring with vigor. In north Texas, it is treated as an annual.

Botanical Name: Sophora affinis
Texas native deciduous tree reaching only 15 feet in height and width. It earned it's name for the black seed pods that resemble a necklace appearing in the fall after the pinkish white blooms in the spring. Foliage is very light and airy, giving only filtered shade underneath the tree allowing under planting. Tolerates any soil as long as it has good drainage - otherwise very low maintenance....
