Barberry, Roseglow
Berberis thunbergii 'Rosy-Glow'

A popular shrub native to Japan with many cultivars. Very common choice for hedges and barriers, and tough and reliable for many areas just as long as the soil has good drainage.
Under the bark, all Barberries have bright yellow wood. Leaves are small (three quarters inch), teardrop shaped, and accompanied by spines on the leaf axils. Scale can be a problem in warmer climates.
'Rosy-Glow' has mottled rosy pink and silver leaves, maturing to reddish purple.
