Bottlebrush
Callistemon citrinus
Australian native shrub easily trimmed into a small tree that grows best in the southern regions of Texas. Evergreen, growing to eight feet high and five feet wide. Bottlebrush earns its name for the scarlet red flowers that grow on the ends of new branches and resembles a bottle brush. Must be grown in well drained soil, otherwise low maintenance.
