Shipping Policy

Delivery Orders 
We own our fleet of trucks and only ship by common carrier in Spring if needed. Mortellaro’s request at least 24 hours notice for delivery arrangements to be made, however actual date will depend on driver availability. Our drivers are instructed to tailgate only. Customers are required to supply adequate help in unloading the truck to avoid delaying the driver, and must provide unloading equipment for plant material above 200 pounds. Customers also must provide reasonable unloading areas accessible by our trucks and trailers. See Delivery Rates PDF for more information on delivery, fuel, and delay fees. 

The delivery and fuel surcharge is a flat fee fixed on the total mileage that our truck travels to and from the delivery destination, and is not fixed on the dollar amount of the order. Each delivery is allotted 90 minutes for unloading – delays over 90 minutes are billed at $50 per 30 minutes. Excessive delays that cause our drivers to exceed DOT limitations and not be able to return to the nursery on the same day are billed an local hotel rates to cover overnight stay. Mortellaro’s normally pulls delivery orders two days in advance (four days for fire-ant quarantine zones), and loads the trucks one business day before the delivery. 

Pickup Orders 
We appreciate when orders are given in advance, but orders given in person at our sales desk are given priority over customers arriving later. We make every effort to minimize your, your employee, and your co-workers time idle in our loading area. 

If a customer request an order to be pulled in advance, every effort with our time, resources, and plant trailers will be used to make it available. These orders must be picked up within 48 hours, else plant material will be released to make the plant trailer available, and customer will incur a restocking fee. Plant trailers are limited and a necessity to maintain operations.

Returns Policy

Claims 
All Claims, for any cause, must be made immediately upon receipt of goods. Check your order at time of delivery or time of pick up. Buyer acknowledges that any person who signs the delivery document has authorization.  Plant Material being returned must return in the same condition that it left in. Returns that are not protected from wind, sun, or dehydration are unconditionally rejected. 

Restocking Fee 

Mortellaro’s strives to provide the highest quality of plant material that is available. If a return or exchange is not based on the quality of the merchandise, then a restocking fee is charged. 
• Cancellation of a delivery after the orders pulled is subjected to a 15% restocking fee. 
• Cancellation after an order has been loaded is subjected to 20% fee restocking fee. 
• If a Pickup Order pulled in advance is not picked up within 48 hours, it is subjected to a 15% restocking fee.
