Gaillardia pulchella
Discontinued
Texas native perennial wildflower with beaming daisy-like flowers. A large purple center is surrounded by long delicate petals that start out red, then orange, and finish yellow on the tips; they can reach up to three inches across.
Performs best in well drained sandy soils in hot and dry climates. Returns every spring from the roots if mulched well in colder climates, otherwise reseeds easily. Great for cut flower arrangements.
