Russian Sage

Perovskia atriplicifolia 'Crazy Blue'

Discontinued

A unique fast growing perennial with striking gray stems and silver-gray leaves that has a pungent odor when broken or crushed. In the early summer small blue-purple tubular blooms envelop the tops of the branches and persist till fall. It's not uncommon that the stems begin to fall over due to their own weight after reaching heights of four feet.

Tolerant of salt spray, Russian Sage grows best in full sun but can tolerate some shade and appreciates some pruning in the late summer when it begins to fall over and become slightly furrowed.
