Perennial that grows best in the full sun, however will tolerate some shade. Small clusters of bright blue-violet flowers first appear in the early summer, and continue till the late fall attracting butterflies.
Grows best in rich fertile soils, slightly agressive and may need pruning once or twice in the growing season to keep under control or once it reaches mature height and falls over itself.
